Introduction

In this unit, we will look at performance assessment tasks and scoring criteria, and by the end of the unit, you will have designed a task and created a rubric to assess that task using the new concepts and tools you have learned.

Now that you have studied one of the important foundations of the assessment process, it is time to apply what you have learned about objectives, as well as the NC as a whole to one of the central features of assessment in the NC.

Objectives

At the end of this unit, you will be able to

differentiate between performance-based assessment and other types of assessment.

design a scoring rubric for a task of your choice.
refine objectives clearly with reference to specific tasks and activities
